Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 cup cold water
- 2 ounces lime juice (from about 2 limes)
- 1 ounce agave or simple syrup (optional for added sweetness)
- 1 cup pineapple, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks
- ⅓ cup packed fresh mint leaves
- ½ cup packed fresh cilantro
- 1-3 slices jalapeño (depending on your spice preference), optional
For Serving
- Ice cubes
- Lime wedge for rimming the glass
- Kosher or coarse salt for rimming the glass
- Sprig of cilantro or mint for garnish
- Slice of jalapeño for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Glass Rim: Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass to moisten it. Then, dip the rim into kosher or coarse salt to coat it evenly. Set the glass aside for serving.
- Blend the Margarita Base: In a blender, combine the cold water, lime juice, agave or simple syrup if using, pineapple chunks, fresh mint leaves, fresh cilantro, and jalapeño slices. Blend until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Adjust Spice and Sweetness: Taste your blend and adjust sweetness by adding more agave syrup if desired. Add more jalapeño slices if you want extra heat. Blend briefly again to incorporate adjustments.
- Serve: Fill the prepared glass with ice cubes. Pour the margarita mixture over the ice. Garnish with a sprig of cilantro or mint and a slice of jalapeño for an extra touch of flavor and presentation.
Notes
- Adjust the jalapeño quantity to control the spice level.
- Use fresh lime juice for the best flavor.
- Simple syrup can replace agave syrup depending on your preference.
- The drink can be served chilled or over crushed ice.
- For a stronger cocktail, add tequila to taste.
