Ingredients
Fruit
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and cut in half
- 1 banana, peeled and cut into large chunks
Dairy & Liquids
- 5 ounces plain Greek yogurt (or regular plain or vanilla yogurt)
- 1/2 cup apple juice (or milk, more or less to taste)
Sweetener
- Honey, to taste
Instructions
- Freeze Strawberries and Glasses: Place the halved fresh strawberries on a baking sheet lined with parchment or wax paper and put them into the freezer for 20-30 minutes to chill and slightly firm up. Place the serving glasses in the freezer as well to keep the smoothie cold when served.
- Prepare Blender: Add the frozen strawberries, banana chunks, Greek yogurt, honey to taste, and apple juice (or milk) into the blender. Securely put the lid on the blender to prevent spills.
- Blend Smoothie: Blend on high speed for about 1 minute. Check the smoothie’s texture — if it’s too thick, add a little more apple juice or milk and blend again until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust the sweetness by adding more honey if desired.
- Serve: Pour the smoothie into the chilled glasses. Garnish each glass with a fresh strawberry and serve immediately with a wide straw for the perfect refreshing experience.
Notes
- Freezing the strawberries and chilling the glasses helps keep the smoothie cold without diluting the flavor with extra ice.
- You can substitute apple juice with milk or a dairy-free alternative like almond or oat milk for variation.
- Adjust the honey based on your preferred sweetness or omit it if using sweetened yogurt.
- This smoothie is best consumed immediately for optimal freshness and texture.
