Ingredients
Hot Dogs & Buns
- 6 all beef hot dogs
- 6 hot dog buns
Sauces
- Hot dog sauce, prepared (about 1 cup)
- Nacho cheese sauce, prepared (about 1 cup)
Instructions
- Prepare the Hot Dogs: Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat. Cook the all beef hot dogs for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are heated through and have slight grill marks or browning.
- Warm the Buns: Briefly toast the hot dog buns on the grill or in a toaster oven for 1-2 minutes until they are warm and slightly crispy on the edges.
- Assemble the Hot Dogs: Place each cooked hot dog inside a toasted bun. Spoon the prepared hot dog sauce generously over each hot dog.
- Add Nacho Cheese Sauce: Drizzle or spoon the prepared nacho cheese sauce over the hot dog sauce to add a creamy, cheesy layer.
- Serve Immediately: Serve the chili cheese hot dogs while warm for the best flavor and texture. Optionally, add toppings like diced onions or jalapeños.
Notes
- You can prepare your own hot dog sauce using ground beef, onion, tomato sauce, and chili spices for extra freshness.
- Homemade nacho cheese sauce can be made by melting cheddar cheese with milk and a bit of flour for thickening.
- These hot dogs are best served immediately but can be wrapped and refrigerated for up to 2 days.
- For a spicier kick, add jalapeños or hot sauce as desired.
