Ingredients
Salmon Fillets
- 4 salmon fillets (4-6 oz each), skin on
- Kosher salt, to taste
Marinade
- 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
Instructions
- Marinate the Salmon: Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel. Pour the sweet chili sauce into a shallow dish that can accommodate all fillets in a single layer. Place the salmon skin side up in the sauce, cover, and refrigerate for 10 to 15 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
- Air Fryer Method: Preheat the air fryer to 400°F. Lightly oil the air fryer basket with a mild vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Place the marinated salmon fillets skin side down in the basket. Cook for 9 to 10 minutes, stopping halfway through to baste the tops with additional sweet chili sauce using a spoon for extra flavor and moisture.
- Oven Broiler Method: Preheat the oven broiler to high heat. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place the salmon fillets skin side down on the foil. Broil in the middle rack until the tops are browned in spots and the salmon reaches medium doneness, approximately 4 to 6 minutes. Monitor closely to avoid burning the sauce. After cooking, tent the fillets with foil to retain warmth and moisture until serving.
- Serving: Remove the salmon from the air fryer or oven. Serve with rice and optionally garnish with toasted sesame seeds. Drizzle with a little extra sweet chili sauce if desired for enhanced taste.
Notes
- Marinating time can be extended up to 30 minutes for a stronger flavor infusion.
- If using the air fryer, avoid overcrowding the basket to ensure even cooking.
- Adjust broccoli or vegetable sides as preferred for a balanced meal.
- Use mild vegetable oil such as canola or avocado oil for air fryer basket oiling.
- Watch the salmon carefully under the broiler to prevent burning due to the sugar content in the sweet chili sauce.
