A creamy and delicious homemade strawberry milkshake made with rich strawberry ice cream, whole milk, and heavy cream, topped with whipped cream and fresh strawberry for a classic treat.

  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

Milkshake Ingredients

  • ¼ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup heavy cream (or substitute for milk)
  • 5 scoops (about 2 cups) Tillamook Oregon Strawberry Ice Cream

Toppings

  • Whipped cream
  • Fresh strawberry (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Temper the ice cream: Let the strawberry ice cream sit at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes to soften slightly for easier blending. At the same time, chill your milkshake glass in the freezer for the best presentation and cool drinking experience.
  2. Combine ingredients: In the jar of a high-speed blender, pour the whole milk and heavy cream, then add the softened strawberry ice cream.
  3. Blend the milkshake: Start blending on low speed and gradually increase to medium, blending until the mixture is smooth and creamy, about 1 to 2 minutes. Stop once or twice if needed to scrape down the sides of the blender to ensure even mixing.
  4. Adjust consistency: Taste the milkshake and add more milk if you want it thinner or add more ice cream to thicken the shake according to your preference. Blend briefly again after adjustments.
  5. Serve: Pour the finished strawberry milkshake into the chilled glass. Top with a generous dollop of whipped cream and garnish with half a fresh strawberry for a classic look and extra flavor.

Notes

  • Allowing the ice cream to soften slightly helps the blending process and creates a smoother milkshake.
  • Chilling the glass keeps the milkshake cold longer and enhances the overall experience.
  • You can substitute heavy cream with additional milk if you prefer a lighter shake.
  • Use a high-speed blender for best texture and quick blending.
  • Adjust the thickness to your liking by varying the amount of milk or ice cream.
