Ingredients
Dip Ingredients
- 14 ounces Artichoke hearts (drained and coarsely chopped)
- 10 ounces Frozen spinach (defrosted, well-drained and chopped)
- 8 ounces Brick style cream cheese (room temperature)
- 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 garlic clove (minced)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 cup fresh shredded mozzarella (or more if desired)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Dish: Preheat the oven to 350℉ (175℃) and lightly spray a 2-quart baking dish with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the chopped artichoke hearts, drained spinach, room temperature cream cheese, mayonnaise, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, dried basil, and garlic salt. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated, except the shredded mozzarella which will be added later.
- Assemble the Dip: Transfer the mixed spinach artichoke mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Cover the dish and refrigerate if not baking immediately; it can be stored up to 2 days.
- Add Mozzarella and Bake: When ready to serve, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the dip. Bake in the preheated oven at 350℉ for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden. For an optional browned top, switch the oven to broil and place the baking dish on a higher rack for a few minutes, watching carefully to avoid burning.
- Serve: Remove the dish from the oven and serve immediately. Pair the dip with chips, toasted bread, or crackers for dipping. Optionally, garnish with freshly minced parsley for added color and freshness.
Notes
- Make sure to drain and chop spinach and artichokes well to avoid excess moisture in the dip.
- Use brick-style cream cheese at room temperature for easier mixing and a smoother dip texture.
- You can prepare the dip mixture ahead of time and refrigerate it up to 2 days before baking.
- Adjust the amount of mozzarella cheese on top depending on how cheesy you want the dip.
- Watch the dip closely when broiling to prevent burning, it only takes a couple of minutes to brown.
- Serve warm for the best flavor and texture.
