Ingredients
Ingredients
- 1–2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 2 medium zucchini, quartered
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese, for topping
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat the oil: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, warm 1–2 tablespoons of olive oil until it shimmers, signaling it’s ready to cook the zucchini.
- Add zucchini: Spread the quartered zucchini in a single layer in the skillet to ensure even cooking and browning.
- Cook and season: Sprinkle the zucchini evenly with Italian seasoning, salt, and freshly ground black pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the zucchini edges turn golden brown and the centers become tender, about 10 minutes. Adjust seasoning if needed.
- Serve: Transfer the sautéed zucchini to a serving dish. Top generously with grated Parmesan cheese and scatter fresh basil leaves over the top. Serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- For an extra flavor boost, add minced garlic or red pepper flakes while cooking.
- Use fresh herbs like thyme or oregano as an alternative to Italian seasoning.
- To keep zucchini crispier, avoid overcrowding the pan.
- Parmesan can be omitted for a dairy-free version or substituted with nutritional yeast.
