Ingredients
Blueberry Syrup
- 1/4 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon sugar or sweetener of your choice
Matcha Mixture
- 1 teaspoon matcha powder
- 2 oz water
Latte
- 6 oz oat milk
Instructions
- Make the Blueberry Syrup: Heat the blueberries, 1/4 cup water, and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Mash the blueberries as they soften and simmer the mixture for 5 minutes until it thickens into a syrup. Then remove from heat and allow it to cool completely.
- Prepare Matcha: In a small bowl, combine the matcha powder with 2 ounces of water. Whisk vigorously using a matcha whisk or a handheld frother until the matcha is smooth and slightly frothy.
- Assemble the Latte: Fill a glass with ice and add 2 tablespoons of the cooled blueberry syrup. Pour in 6 ounces of oat milk over the ice, then gently top with the prepared matcha mixture. Stir lightly before serving if desired.
Notes
- Use fresh or frozen blueberries depending on availability.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar or using a preferred sweetener.
- For a vegan version, ensure your sweetener is plant-based.
- Matcha powder quality can affect flavor; use ceremonial grade for the best taste.
- Chill the blueberry syrup for a more refreshing drink, especially on hot days.
