Ingredients
Ingredients
- 1 pint full-fat ice cream, any flavor, softened
- 1 ½ cups self-rising flour
- Baking spray, for greasing the pan
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350º Fahrenheit. Grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan thoroughly with baking spray to prevent sticking.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened ice cream with the self-rising flour. Use an electric mixer to beat the mixture until it is fully combined and smooth.
- Pour Batter and Bake: Pour the batter evenly into the prepared loaf pan. Place it in the preheated oven and bake for 40 minutes. To check for doneness, insert a wooden toothpick into the center of the bread—if it comes out clean, the bread is ready.
- Cool and Serve: Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, carefully remove the bread from the pan, slice, and serve your delicious ice cream bread.
Notes
- Use full-fat ice cream as it helps achieve the right texture and flavor.
- Self-rising flour already contains leavening agents, so no additional baking powder or soda is needed.
- Flavor variations can be made by choosing different ice cream flavors—chocolate, vanilla, or even fruity options work great.
- Check the bread at 35 minutes if your oven runs hot to avoid overbaking.
- Ensure the ice cream is softened for easier mixing; too frozen can cause lumps.
