Ingredients
Tea Base
- 1 1/2 cups passion tea (brewed strong and cooled)
Drink Mix
- 1 cup canned unsweetened full-fat coconut milk
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons liquid monkfruit or liquid stevia
Garnish
- 2 tablespoons freeze-dried strawberries or 2 medium fresh strawberries, thinly sliced
Instructions
- Brew the Passion Tea: Boil 1 1/2 cups of water using a stove or microwave. Steep 2 to 3 passion tea bags in the hot water for 5 to 10 minutes until strong, then discard tea bags. Let the tea cool completely; refrigerate if needed or add ice cubes to speed cooling.
- Mix the Drink: In a blender, combine the cooled passion tea, coconut milk, vanilla extract, and liquid monkfruit or stevia. Blend on high for 30 to 60 seconds until smooth and frothy. Alternatively, mix all ingredients in a large glass and use a hand frother to combine thoroughly.
- Serve: Fill a glass with ice cubes, pour the blended mixture over the ice, and top with the freeze-dried strawberries or thinly sliced fresh strawberries for garnish.
Notes
- You can substitute liquid monkfruit with liquid stevia or another natural liquid sweetener to taste.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sweetener based on your preference.
- Use fresh strawberries if preferred, but freeze-dried strawberries provide a nice texture and intense flavor.
- For a quicker cooling method, add ice directly to the brewed tea before blending.
- This recipe is dairy-free and can be served vegan if using certified vegan coconut milk and sweeteners.
