Ingredients
Coffee Base
- 2 shots of espresso or 1/2 cup strongly brewed coffee
Flavorings
- 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup (plus more to taste)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice (plus more for topping if desired)
Milk
- 3/4 cup oat milk (or other non-dairy milk)
Instructions
- Prepare the Coffee Base: Brew 2 shots of espresso or 1/2 cup of strongly brewed coffee to provide a robust coffee flavor as the latte base.
- Combine Ingredients and Heat: Option One: Add the espresso or coffee, pumpkin puree, maple syrup, vanilla extract, pumpkin pie spice, and oat milk into a small saucepan. Whisk the mixture together over medium heat until heated through, ensuring everything is well combined and warm. Option Two: Alternatively, combine all ingredients except the milk in a small saucepan, whisking to blend flavors.
- Froth the Milk (Option Two): While the coffee mixture is heating, heat and froth the oat milk using a milk frother until warm and foamy.
- Assemble the Latte: For Option One, pour the hot mixture directly into your favorite mug. For Option Two, pour the heated coffee mixture into your mug first, then gently pour the warmed frothed milk over it to create a layered and creamy latte experience.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle additional pumpkin pie spice on top if desired to enhance the aroma and presentation. Enjoy your homemade pumpkin spice latte immediately while warm.
Notes
- You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup according to your preference.
- Use any non-dairy milk such as almond, soy, or cashew if oat milk is unavailable or for different taste preferences.
- For a stronger pumpkin flavor, increase the pumpkin puree slightly.
- If you don’t have a milk frother, heating the milk without frothing still produces a delicious latte.
