Ingredients
Vegetables
- 1 large onion
- 1 large red bell pepper
- 1 large green bell pepper
Protein & Seasoning
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 oz package Fajita seasoning
- 1 Tablespoon dried cilantro
Other
- 1 Tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 8 Fajita Tortillas
Instructions
- Prepare Vegetables: On a cutting board, cut the onion and both red and green bell peppers into thin strips to ensure even cooking and a perfect texture in your fajitas.
- Cook Ground Beef: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the lean ground beef along with the fajita seasoning. Cook while stirring and breaking the meat into small pieces until the beef is fully browned and cooked through to infuse it with the seasoning.
- Remove Beef: Using a slotted spoon, transfer the cooked beef into a separate bowl and set aside to free up the skillet for vegetables.
- Cook Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the sliced bell peppers and onions. Stir-fry them for about 5 minutes until they become tender-crisp, retaining some bite and color.
- Recombine and Reheat: Return the seasoned ground beef to the skillet with the vegetables, cooking briefly just until everything is reheated and flavors meld together. Stir if you prefer combined or keep separate as desired.
- Add Final Flavor: Turn off the heat. Drizzle the fresh lime juice over the mixture to brighten the dish and sprinkle dried cilantro on top for a fresh herbal aroma.
- Serve: Spoon the warm beef and vegetable mixture into the fajita tortillas and serve immediately for a delicious and hearty meal.
Notes
- For extra zest, consider adding fresh chopped cilantro instead of dried.
- Substitute fajita seasoning with homemade mix if preferred.
- Use low-carb or gluten-free tortillas to adjust dietary preferences.
- To make this recipe leaner, drain excess fat from the cooked ground beef.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated on the stovetop.
