A festive and refreshing Grinch Punch perfect for holiday parties, featuring a vibrant green color from lime sherbet, Hawaiian punch, and lemon-lime soda, garnished with decorative red sugar-rimmed glasses for a fun and flavorful celebration drink.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 20 servings (1 serving = 8 oz)

Ingredients

For Decorating Glasses:

  • ¼ cup red sugar sprinkles
  • 2 tablespoons light corn syrup (to rim glasses)

For the Grinch Punch:

  • ½ gallon lime sherbet
  • 46 oz can pineapple juice, chilled
  • 1 gallon green Hawaiian punch, chilled
  • 2 liter bottle lemon-lime soda (e.g., 7-Up or Sprite), chilled

Instructions

  1. Decorate glasses: Use a small paintbrush to brush light corn syrup around the edges of each glass about ⅛ inch wide. Then, dip the edges of each glass into red sugar sprinkles to coat the rim evenly. Set the glasses aside for serving.
  2. Prepare Grinch Punch base: In a large punch bowl or serving bowl, add the lime sherbet as the base of the punch to give it a creamy and frosty texture and vibrant green color.
  3. Add pineapple juice and Hawaiian punch: Pour in about half of the chilled pineapple juice can and half of the green Hawaiian punch gallon bottle into the punch bowl, gently stirring to combine with the sherbet.
  4. Top with soda: Pour the chilled lemon-lime soda over the mixture to add fizz and balance the sweetness. Serve the punch immediately.
  5. Refill as needed: Throughout the party, replenish the punch bowl with more pineapple juice, Hawaiian punch, and lemon-lime soda as desired to keep the punch fresh and bubbly.
  6. Store leftovers: Cover and keep any remaining punch refrigerated to maintain freshness for future serving.

Notes

  • Light corn syrup helps the sugar sprinkles adhere well to the glass rims.
  • Half quantities of pineapple juice and Hawaiian punch are used initially to avoid over dilution and maintain optimal flavor and fizz.
  • Use chilled ingredients for best taste and to keep the punch cool without ice melting quickly.
  • The punch is best served immediately to enjoy the creamy texture of the sherbet and carbonation of the soda.
