Ingredients
Sauce Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons light soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon chili sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch (use 3 teaspoons for a thicker sauce)
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: Whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, chili sauce, chicken broth, and cornstarch in a small bowl until the cornstarch is fully dissolved and the mixture is uniform.
- Heat Sauce: Pour the mixture into a saucepan or pot and heat over medium heat for 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent lumps, until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy.
- Adjust Thickness: If the sauce isn’t thick enough, dissolve an additional teaspoon of cornstarch in a small amount of water and add it gradually while heating, stirring continuously until the desired thickness is achieved.
- Serve: Use the sauce immediately as a flavorful topping or dipping sauce for fried or stir-fried chicken, tofu, or vegetables.
Notes
- For a vegetarian or vegan version, substitute chicken broth with vegetable broth.
- Adjust chili sauce quantity to control the heat level.
- The sauce thickens further as it cools, so serve soon after cooking.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
