Ingredients
Phyllo Base:
- 1 tbsp butter (melted)
- 1 tbsp oil (any neutral oil such as avocado)
- 8 sheets phyllo dough (14 x 9 inches)
Filling:
- 8 ounces light cream cheese
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 cup whipped topping
Toppings:
- 1 11-oz can mandarin oranges (drained) or 2 to 3 fresh, peeled mandarins
- 4 kiwifruit (peeled and sliced)
- 1 ½ cups sliced strawberries
- 1 oz white baking chocolate (melted)
Instructions
- Prepare Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter and neutral oil thoroughly to create a brushing mixture for the phyllo dough.
- Layer Phyllo Dough: Place one sheet of phyllo dough on a baking sheet and brush it evenly with the butter-oil mixture. Repeat this layering and brushing process with the remaining seven sheets, ensuring each sheet is coated to achieve a crisp, golden base.
- Bake Phyllo Base: Bake the layered phyllo sheets in a preheated oven at 400°F (204°C) for 5 to 7 minutes or until the phyllo turns golden brown and crisp. Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool completely to maintain its crispness.
- Prepare Cream Cheese Filling: Using a mixer, beat the light cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue beating until well incorporated. Gently fold in the whipped topping to create a light, fluffy filling.
- Assemble Tart: Spread the prepared cream cheese filling evenly over the cooled phyllo base, creating a smooth layer for the fruit topping.
- Add Fruit Toppings: Arrange the drained mandarin oranges, peeled and sliced kiwifruit, and sliced strawberries attractively over the cream cheese layer to add color, freshness, and sweetness.
- Finish with White Chocolate Drizzle: Melt the white baking chocolate in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each until smooth. Drizzle the melted chocolate artistically over the fruit topping for added flavor and a lovely presentation.
Notes
- Ensure the phyllo dough is covered with a damp towel while working to prevent it from drying out.
- Use light cream cheese and whipped topping for a lighter dessert option.
- Fresh fruit can be substituted based on seasonal availability or personal preference.
- Allow the white chocolate to cool slightly before drizzling to avoid melting the cream cheese layer.
- Serve the tart chilled or at room temperature for best texture and flavor.
