This Easy Pan Fried Salmon with Lemon and Garlic recipe delivers perfectly seared, golden-crisp salmon fillets infused with a bright lemon and fragrant garlic butter sauce. Ready in just 22 minutes, it’s a simple yet elegant dish that combines fresh ingredients and quick stovetop cooking for a flavorful meal suitable for any night of the week.

  • Total Time: 22 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Salmon

  • 4 salmon fillets (approximately 170 grams / 6 ounces each)

For Cooking

  • 30 ml olive oil
  • 45 grams butter (salted)
  • 3 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1 bunch parsley (chopped, approximately 1/4 cup)
  • 2 lemons (1 sliced, 1 juiced)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Salmon: Pat dry the room-temperature salmon fillets with paper towels. Season all over with salt and black pepper to enhance flavor and aid in creating a crisp crust.
  2. Sear the Salmon: Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Place the salmon fillets flesh side down, pressing lightly to ensure contact. Cook undisturbed for 5-6 minutes until the flesh is crispy and golden brown.
  3. Flip the Fillets: Turn the salmon over and cook for an additional 2 minutes on the other side. Remove the fillets and set them aside on a plate.
  4. Prepare the Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, add butter, chopped garlic, 3 tablespoons of chopped parsley, lemon juice, and lemon slices. Allow the butter to melt and garlic to become fragrant while stirring gently.
  5. Finish Cooking the Salmon: Return the salmon to the pan, spooning the butter and garlic sauce over each fillet. Continue to cook for 1-2 minutes until salmon is cooked to your liking and the butter begins to brown slightly. Adjust seasoning with salt, pepper, and additional lemon juice if desired.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle the remaining parsley over the salmon and drizzle with the butter sauce before serving to provide a fresh, vibrant finish.

Notes

  • Ensure salmon is patted dry before seasoning to help achieve a crispy skin and even sear.
  • Use room-temperature salmon to promote even cooking.
  • Adjust cooking time slightly depending on the thickness of your salmon fillets.
  • Butter can brown quickly; watch carefully to avoid burning and impart a nutty flavor instead.
  • Pair this dish with steamed vegetables or a fresh salad for a balanced meal.
