Ingredients
Brownie Batter
- ½ cup Unsalted Butter
- 1 ½ cups Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
- ½ cup White Sugar
- ½ cup Brown Sugar
- 3 Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- ½ cup All Purpose Flour
- ½ cup Cocoa Powder
Add-ins
- 2 cups Oreos (roughly chopped)
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal of the brownies.
- Melt butter and chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips together in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth and fully melted. Set aside to cool slightly.
- Mix sugars and eggs: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the white sugar, brown sugar, and eggs until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Add the vanilla extract and continue mixing.
- Combine chocolate mixture: Slowly pour the melted chocolate and butter mixture into the sugar and egg mixture, stirring until well combined and smooth.
- Add dry ingredients: Sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until no flour streaks remain. Be careful not to overmix.
- Incorporate Oreos: Fold in the roughly chopped Oreos, distributing them evenly throughout the batter.
- Pour batter into pan: Transfer the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it out evenly with a spatula.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs but no raw batter.
- Cool and serve: Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting into squares and serving. This helps them set for fudgy texture.
Notes
- For extra fudginess, slightly underbake the brownies by reducing baking time by 2-3 minutes.
- You can substitute semi-sweet chocolate chips with dark chocolate chips for a richer taste.
- Be careful not to overmix the batter once the flour is added to keep brownies tender.
- Use fresh Oreos for best texture; stale cookies can become too soft during baking.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
