Ingredients
Burger Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground chicken
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/3 cup hot sauce (Frank’s Red Hot recommended)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Whipped Feta Spread
- 6 ounces feta cheese (block or crumbled)
- 4 ounces cream cheese
- 1/4 cup Greek yogurt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons water
For Cooking and Finishing
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 tablespoons hot sauce (for brushing)
- Buns (4–5)
- Lettuce (as desired)
Instructions
- Make the Whipped Feta: Combine the feta cheese, cream cheese, Greek yogurt, olive oil, and water in a small food processor. Blend until the mixture is thick, smooth, and spreadable, with visible flecks of feta throughout.
- Mix the Burgers: In a medium bowl, mix together the ground chicken, panko breadcrumbs, hot sauce, garlic powder, and salt until fully combined. Shape the mixture into 4 to 5 evenly sized patties.
- Cook the Burgers: Heat a small amount of oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Place the patties in the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Brush with Butter and Hot Sauce: While the burgers are finishing cooking, combine melted butter and hot sauce, then brush this mixture over the outside of the patties to enhance flavor and add a glossy finish.
- Finish and Serve: Place the cooked burgers on buns, add lettuce, and spread a generous amount of the whipped feta spread on top. Serve immediately and enjoy the bold buffalo flavors.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken burgers are fully cooked (165°F internal temperature).
- Adjust the amount of hot sauce in the burger mixture and butter brush to your desired spice level.
- The whipped feta spread can be prepared ahead of time and refrigerated until ready to use.
- Substitute ground turkey if preferred, but cooking times may vary slightly.
- To keep burgers moist, avoid overcooking and use a nonstick skillet with a bit of oil.
