Ingredients
Salmon Marinade
- 1 lb. raw salmon, skin removed, cut into 1” cubes
- 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
- 1/4 cup tamari sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1/2 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
Thickening Sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
Garnishes
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions
Instructions
- Prepare Marinade: In a large bowl, whisk together toasted sesame oil, tamari sauce, rice wine vinegar, minced garlic, and fresh ginger until well combined.
- Marinate Salmon: Add the cubed salmon to the marinade bowl, tossing gently to coat all pieces evenly. Allow the salmon to marinate for 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Preheat Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 400°F (204°C) and let it preheat while the salmon marinates.
- Remove Salmon from Marinade: Carefully remove the salmon pieces from the marinade, reserving the leftover marinade for the sauce.
- Air Fry Salmon: Place the salmon cubes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook for 8-10 minutes until crispy and cooked through. If necessary, cook in batches to avoid overcrowding. Once done, remove and let the salmon rest.
- Prepare Glaze Sauce: Pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan. In a separate bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Slowly add the slurry to the saucepan while stirring continuously. Simmer the sauce until it thickens to a glaze consistency.
- Glaze and Garnish: Drizzle the thickened sauce over the air-fried salmon bites. Garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
