This decadent Chocolate Lasagna is a layered dessert featuring a crunchy Oreo crust, creamy cream cheese filling, rich pudding layers, and a fluffy Cool Whip topping, finished with chocolate syrup and optional chocolate curls. Perfect for parties and gatherings, it offers a delightful mix of textures and flavors in every slice.

  • Total Time: 45 minutes (including chilling time)
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

Crust

  • 14.3 ounces package Oreo cookies (regular, not double stuffed)
  • ½ cup melted margarine or butter

Cream Cheese Layer

  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 8 ounces Cool Whip
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Pudding Layer

  • 5.1 ounces instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 5.9 ounces instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3 cups whole milk (cold)

Topping

  • 8 ounces Cool Whip
  • ¾ cup reserved crushed Oreos
  • Chocolate syrup
  • Optional: Chocolate curls or your favorite chocolate candy

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oreo Crust: Add whole Oreo cookies, cream centers included, to a food processor and pulse until they are evenly crumbled. Set aside ¾ cup of these crushed Oreos for the topping. Combine the remaining Oreo crumbs with ½ cup melted butter and press the mixture into an even layer at the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan. Refrigerate to chill and set the crust.
  2. Create Cream Cheese Layer: Using an electric mixer, beat the softened cream cheese, 8 ounces of Cool Whip, and powdered sugar together until smooth and creamy. Evenly spread this mixture over the chilled Oreo crust layer. Return it to the refrigerator to chill and firm up.
  3. Make Pudding Layer: In a medium bowl, whisk together instant vanilla pudding mix, instant chocolate pudding mix, and 3 cups of cold whole milk until the mixture thickens. Spread this pudding layer evenly over the cream cheese layer in the pan.
  4. Add Cool Whip Topping: Spread the remaining 8 ounces of Cool Whip evenly over the pudding layer to form a fluffy top layer.
  5. Garnish and Chill: Sprinkle the reserved ¾ cup crushed Oreos over the Cool Whip layer. Drizzle chocolate syrup on top and, if desired, add chocolate curls or chopped chocolate candy for extra decoration. Refrigerate the entire dessert until ready to serve, allowing all layers to set properly.

Notes

  • For best results, chill each layer thoroughly before adding the next to ensure firm distinct layers.
  • This dessert is best served cold and can be prepared a day in advance.
  • Substitute margarine with butter for richer flavor.
  • Use regular Oreo cookies instead of double stuffed for proper texture balance.
  • If you prefer a lighter version, use light Cool Whip and low-fat pudding mixes.
