Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 2 ripe avocados
- ½ cup raw cacao powder
- 3 tbsp maple syrup (add more if you like it sweet)
- ¼ cup coconut milk or alternative plant-based milk
- Dash of vanilla extract
- 50 g dark chocolate
- Pinch of sea salt
For Serving
- Raspberries to serve (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare Avocados: Cut open and deseed the avocados, then scoop the flesh out using a spoon and place it into a blender or food processor.
- Add Dry and Liquid Ingredients: To the blender, add raw cacao powder, maple syrup, coconut milk, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt for balance.
- Melt the Chocolate: Gently melt the dark chocolate either in the microwave in short bursts or on the stovetop using a double boiler method to avoid burning, then add the melted chocolate into the blender.
- Blend Until Smooth: Blend all ingredients until completely smooth and creamy. Use a spatula to open the container and push down the sides as needed to achieve an even, silky consistency without clumps.
- Chill the Mousse: Serve the mousse into small glass jars or bowls and refrigerate for 30 to 60 minutes to allow it to set and chill properly before serving.
- Garnish and Serve: Top with fresh raspberries or your choice of fruit, then enjoy this rich, healthy dessert.
Notes
- Use ripe avocados for the best creamy texture and natural sweetness.
- Adjust the amount of maple syrup to suit your preferred sweetness level.
- Choose dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa for an intense chocolate flavor and added antioxidants.
- For a nuttier twist, feel free to add a tablespoon of almond or peanut butter.
- This mousse keeps well in the fridge for up to 2 days, but is best enjoyed fresh.
