Ingredients
For the Beef
- 1 lb. ground beef (85/15 for the juiciest)
- 2 teaspoons burger seasoning (one teaspoon per side)
For the Fries
- 1 22-ounce bag frozen waffle fries
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 1-ounce packet ranch seasoning mix (or 3 tablespoons)
For the House Sauce
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 teaspoon horseradish
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 clove grated garlic
Toppings
- Shredded lettuce
- Diced tomatoes
- Diced burger pickles
Instructions
- Prepare the Ranch Fries: Preheat your oven and bake the frozen waffle fries according to package instructions. Once baked, add the butter to the hot sheet pan and toss the fries until they are juicy and well coated. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning over the fries and toss again until evenly coated. Adjust the amount of seasoning based on your preference.
- Make the House Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, and grated garlic. Taste and season with salt if needed. Optionally, you can use a store-bought burger sauce instead.
- Cook the Beef: Heat a well-seasoned cast iron skillet over high heat without adding oil. Season one side of the ground beef with 1 teaspoon of burger seasoning. Place the beef in the hot skillet, seasoned side down, and let it cook undisturbed for several minutes to create a browned crust and render the fat.
- Finish the Beef: Sprinkle the remaining 1 teaspoon of seasoning on the exposed side of the beef. After the beef has browned on one side, flip it in large chunks and break it up into fork-sized pieces. Continue cooking and stirring until the beef is fully browned and cooked through. Remove from heat.
- Assemble the Burger Bowls: In serving bowls, layer the juicy burger crumbles, ranch fries, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and diced pickles. Drizzle or dollop the house sauce on top. Serve immediately and enjoy the combination of flavors and textures.
Notes
- Use 85/15 ground beef for optimal juiciness and flavor.
- Ensure your cast iron pan is well-seasoned and very hot for the best sear on the beef.
- Adjust ranch seasoning on fries to taste depending on your preference.
- House sauce can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- If you want a quicker option, store-bought burger sauce can substitute the house sauce.
