Ingredients
Dough
- 1 Can crescent roll dough
Fillings
- 6 Ounces brie cheese (about ¾ Cup), sliced into 1-inch squares
- ¼ Cup whole cranberry sauce
- ¼ Cup orange marmalade
- ¼ Cup pecans, chopped
Other
- Nonstick cooking spray (for greasing mini muffin pan)
- Fresh rosemary sprig (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare pan: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Generously spray a mini muffin pan with nonstick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Mix cranberry filling: In a bowl, combine the whole cranberry sauce and orange marmalade, stirring until well blended. Set this mixture aside for later use.
- Slice brie cheese: Using a sharp knife, carefully cut the brie cheese into small 1-inch squares. You can keep the rind on for extra flavor and texture. Set the slices aside.
- Prepare crescent dough: Roll out the crescent roll dough on a lightly floured surface to prevent sticking.
- Seal dough perforations: Press the perforated seams of the dough with your fingers to form one large rectangle without separating lines.
- Cut dough squares: Using a sharp knife, cut the large rectangle into 24 equally sized squares. Gently press each square into the cups of the prepared mini muffin pan, shaping little dough cups.
- Assemble the bites: Place one cube of brie cheese into each dough cup. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the cranberry-orange mixture over the brie, then sprinkle a pinch of chopped pecans on top of each.
- Bake: Place the mini muffin pan in the preheated oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and cooked through.
- Cool: Remove the pan from the oven and allow the bites to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes to set before removing them.
- Garnish and serve: Optionally, place a small sprig of fresh rosemary atop each bite for an aromatic and festive touch. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- Keep the rind on the brie for added texture and flavor, but feel free to remove if preferred.
- If you don’t have a mini muffin pan, you can try making slightly larger bites with a regular muffin pan, adjusting baking time accordingly.
- These can be prepared ahead of time by assembling but baking just before serving for best freshness.
- For a nut-free option, omit pecans or substitute with seeds like pumpkin or sunflower.
- Fresh rosemary is optional but adds a lovely herbal aroma to the final presentation.
