Ingredients
Salmon and Lemon
- 2 lbs fresh salmon (skin removed, not frozen)
- 3 lemons (sliced)
Seasonings
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- Pinch of coarse salt
- Pinch of coarse pepper
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit to ensure it’s hot and ready for quick, even baking of the salmon skewers.
- Prepare Salmon: Remove the skin from the salmon if not already done. Cut the salmon into 1-inch cubes to ensure even cooking and easy skewering.
- Slice Lemons: Thinly slice the lemons to be layered between the salmon cubes on the skewers for added flavor and moisture.
- Assemble Skewers: Alternate threading the salmon cubes and lemon slices on wooden skewers. Aim for about 3-4 salmon cubes and 2 lemon slices per skewer, or adjust based on your preference.
- Arrange Skewers: Place the assembled skewers on a baking sheet lined with tin foil to catch any drips and make cleanup easier.
- Season: Drizzle the olive oil evenly over the skewers, then squeeze fresh lemon juice on top and sprinkle a generous pinch of coarse salt and pepper for seasoning.
- Bake: Bake the skewers in the preheated oven for 6 minutes or until the internal temperature of the salmon reaches 135-140 degrees Fahrenheit, indicating it is perfectly cooked but still moist.
Notes
- Use fresh salmon for best flavor and texture; avoid frozen unless fully thawed.
- Adjust lemon slices and salmon cubes per skewer depending on skewer length and personal preference.
- Check internal temperature with a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking.
- Wooden skewers should be soaked in water for 30 minutes before use to prevent burning in the oven.
- Serve immediately after baking for optimal taste and texture.
