Ingredients
Fish
- 16 ounces (420g) cod fillets (two 8-ounce fillets)
Marinade
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- ½ teaspoon granulated onion
Garnish
- 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (optional, for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 350°F (180°C) and allow it to preheat fully to ensure even cooking of the cod.
- Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, granulated onion, and olive oil to form a flavorful marinade. Brush this mixture evenly over both sides of the cod fillets, then cover the plate and let them rest for 15 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Prepare the Air Fryer Basket: Lightly spritz or brush the air fryer basket with oil to prevent the fish from sticking during cooking.
- Cook the Cod: Carefully place the marinated cod fillets into the air fryer basket. Air fry for 5 minutes, then gently flip the fillets using a spatula to avoid breaking the delicate fish. Continue cooking for an additional 4 minutes until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
- Serve: Remove the cod from the air fryer and transfer to serving plates. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and drizzle fresh lemon juice over the top if desired for a bright, fresh finish.
Notes
- Use fresh or thawed cod fillets for best results; avoid cooking frozen fish directly unless specified by your air fryer’s manufacturer.
- Adjust seasoning to taste or add garlic powder or smoked paprika for extra flavor variations.
- The air frying time may vary slightly depending on the thickness of the fillets and your specific air fryer model.
- To ensure even cooking, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary.
- Serve with steamed vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
