Ingredients
Butter Mixture
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
Peaches
- 4 large ripe peaches (halved and pitted)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
To Serve
- Vanilla ice cream or Greek yogurt
- Optional: granola, honey, a sprinkle of cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and allow it to preheat for even cooking and optimal caramelization of the peaches.
- Prepare the Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the unsalted butter, ground cinnamon, brown sugar, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well until smooth and set aside.
- Prep the Peaches: Cut the peaches in half and carefully remove the pits. Brush the cut side of each peach half evenly with olive oil to help with caramelization and prevent sticking.
- Initial Air Frying: Place the peaches skin side down inside the air fryer basket or tray. Air fry them for 5 minutes to start softening and cooking the fruit.
- Add Butter Mixture and Continue Cooking: Remove the peaches momentarily and spoon a generous amount of the butter mixture into the center cavity of each peach half. Return the peaches to the air fryer and cook for an additional 5 to 6 minutes until the butter mixture caramelizes and the peaches are tender and golden on top.
- Serve Immediately: Carefully remove the peaches from the air fryer. Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice cream or Greek yogurt. Optionally, sprinkle granola, drizzle additional honey, or dust with cinnamon for extra flavor and texture.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm peaches for best results to ensure they hold their shape while cooking.
- If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake the peaches in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 12-15 minutes.
- Adjust the sweetness of the butter mixture to your preference by adding more or less brown sugar and honey.
- Serve immediately for the best texture and flavor as peaches soften further if left to sit.
- Try substituting the butter mixture for a vegan alternative if you prefer a dairy-free version.
