Ingredients
Latte Base
- 1 double shot hot espresso
- 1 tsp raw honey
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 ounce good quality chocolate (milk or dark chocolate depending on your preference)
- 3/4 cup milk (preferably oat milk)
Garnish
- Cocoa powder for garnish
- Toasted marshmallows for garnish (see notes)
Instructions
- Prepare the espresso: Brew a double shot of hot espresso using your espresso machine or stovetop espresso maker. Set aside while you prepare the rest of the latte.
- Melt the chocolate and combine flavors: In a small saucepan over low heat, gently melt the chocolate, stirring frequently to prevent burning. Once melted, add the raw honey and ground cinnamon to the chocolate, stirring to combine evenly.
- Heat and froth the milk: Slowly warm the oat milk in the saucepan with the chocolate mixture, stirring constantly until the milk is hot but not boiling. If you have a milk frother, froth the milk mixture to create a creamy texture.
- Mix espresso and chocolate milk: Pour the hot espresso into a mug, then add the warm chocolate-infused milk. Stir gently to blend all the flavors together.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle a light dusting of cocoa powder on top of the latte. Add toasted marshmallows on top or on the side as a nostalgic garnish. Serve immediately while warm for the coziest experience.
Notes
- To toast marshmallows safely indoors, use a kitchen torch or briefly broil them under a preheated oven broiler while watching carefully to avoid burning.
- For a vegan version, ensure your chocolate and honey alternatives are plant-based, using maple syrup or agave nectar instead of honey.
- Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of honey or using flavored syrups if preferred.
- This latte tastes best fresh but can be reheated gently if needed.
