No reviews

Thanksgiving Rice Krispie Turkey Legs are a playful no-bake treat made with cocoa rice krispie cereal, pretzel rods, marshmallows, and candy melts, shaped to look like mini turkey drumsticks.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 6–8 turkey legs

Ingredients

5 cups rice krispies cereal

10 oz marshmallows (1 bag)

2 tablespoons cocoa powder

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

6 pretzel rods

8 mini marshmallows

6 oz white candy melts

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan over low heat, melt butter.
  2. Add marshmallows and stir until smooth.
  3. Mix in cocoa powder until incorporated.
  4. Remove from heat and fold in rice krispies cereal until evenly coated.
  5. Cool slightly, then shape mixture around one end of each pretzel rod to form drumsticks. Press firmly to secure.
  6. Melt candy melts in microwave in 20-second intervals until smooth.
  7. Dip mini marshmallows in melted candy and stick two onto the exposed end of each pretzel rod to form the “bone.”
  8. Let candy coating set before serving.

Notes

Lightly grease your hands with butter or cooking spray to prevent sticking.

Use cocoa rice krispies for an easier shortcut.

Shape while warm for best results—the mixture becomes harder to mold as it cools.

White chocolate chips can substitute for candy melts.
