Ingredients
3 large onions (yellow or sweet), sliced into rings
½ cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup grated parmesan cheese
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Slice onions into rings, separate them, and spread evenly in the prepared dish.
- Drizzle melted butter evenly over the onions to coat them.
- Sprinkle garlic powder, salt, and black pepper evenly over the top.
- Layer cheddar, mozzarella, and parmesan cheeses evenly over the onions.
- Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, or until onions are tender and cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
- Cool for a few minutes before serving to allow the cheese to set slightly.
Notes
Mix sour cream into the melted butter for a creamier texture.
Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top before baking for extra crunch.
Use freshly shredded cheese for the smoothest melting results.
Do not cover while baking to keep the onions from getting soggy.
