Ingredients
Salad Ingredients
- 1/4 cup fine bulgur
- 2 cups parsley, finely chopped
- 2 Roma tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 cup fresh mint, chopped
Dressing
- 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Soak Bulgur: Soak the fine bulgur in 1/2 cup hot water and let it sit for 15 minutes until it absorbs the water and softens. After soaking, fluff it gently with a fork and allow it to cool completely.
- Combine Herbs and Vegetables: In a large mixing bowl, combine the finely chopped parsley, chopped fresh mint, and diced Roma tomatoes. These fresh ingredients give the salad its vibrant flavor and texture.
- Add Bulgur: Add the cooled and fluffed bulgur to the bowl with the herbs and tomatoes to incorporate the base of the salad.
- Prepare Dressing: Pour in the extra virgin olive oil and the juice of one lemon into the bowl. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Mix Thoroughly: Mix all ingredients well so that the dressing evenly coats the salad, ensuring balanced flavor throughout.
- Serve or Chill: Serve the Tabouli Salad immediately for a fresh taste or refrigerate it for about 30 minutes to let the flavors meld together for a more enhanced taste.
Notes
- Fine bulgur is preferable for a delicate texture, but medium bulgur can be used with a longer soaking time.
- The salad tastes better after chilling for 30 minutes, as flavors blend together.
