Ingredients
2 slices soft Italian bread
1 tbsp butter, softened
Leftover spaghetti with sauce (or fresh cooked spaghetti)
Instructions
-
Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of Italian bread.
-
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Place the buttered bread slices in the skillet with the buttered side down.
-
Grill until the first side is golden brown and crispy (about 2-3 minutes). Flip and grill the other side.
-
While the bread is grilling, reheat your leftover spaghetti or cook fresh spaghetti.
-
Once both sides of the bread are golden and crispy, remove the slices from the skillet.
-
Place a generous portion of warm spaghetti on one slice of the grilled bread.
-
Close the sandwich with the second slice of grilled bread, buttered side facing out.
-
Return the sandwich to the skillet and grill for an additional 1-2 minutes per side, until the cheese melts and the sandwich is crispy.
-
Remove from the skillet, slice, and enjoy!
Notes
Feel free to experiment with different cheese varieties like mozzarella, cheddar, or provolone.
Add veggies like bell peppers or mushrooms for more flavor and texture.
For a spicy twist, sprinkle some red pepper flakes over the spaghetti before making the sandwich.
