Loaded with tender steak, sautéed peppers, onions, and gooey white American cheese, this recipe is the ultimate indulgence. Perfect for a hearty snack, casual meal, or party appetizer, these fries are sure to be a hit at any gathering.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: Serves 4

Ingredients

450 g steak, thinly sliced

1 teaspoon garlic salt

0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 onion, sliced

8 to 10 slices White American cheese

567 g bag frozen waffle cut fries

1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Spread the frozen waffle fries on a baking sheet and bake according to package instructions (typically 20-25 minutes) until crispy and golden.

  • While fries are baking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced onions and bell peppers, and sauté until they are softened and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.

  • Season thinly sliced steak with garlic salt and black pepper. Add steak to the skillet with onions and peppers. Cook until steak is browned and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes.

  • Once fries are cooked, remove from the oven and place on a serving dish. Top with steak, onion, and pepper mixture.

  • Layer White American cheese slices over the steak and veggie mixture. Return dish to the oven for another 3-4 minutes, until cheese is melted and bubbly.

  • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For a spicier dish, try adding sliced jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce.

You can swap the White American cheese for provolone, cheddar, or any cheese of your choice.

Customize with more veggies such as spinach, mushrooms, or tomatoes for added flavor.
