A quick and flavorful side dish of peas sautéed with garlic, butter, and olive oil, finished with fresh lemon zest for brightness.

Ingredients

2 cups frozen peas (about 10 ounces)

2 garlic cloves, minced

1 tablespoon salted butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

1/4 teaspoon kosher salt

Fresh ground black pepper, to taste

Zest of 1/2 lemon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mince the garlic finely.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat until melted.
  3. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Stir in frozen peas, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Cook for 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until peas are tender and heated through.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in lemon zest, if using.
  7. Serve warm as a quick side dish.

Notes

Add fresh herbs like mint, parsley, or basil for extra freshness.

Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese for richness.

Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat.

Use olive oil or vegan butter to make it vegan.

Fresh peas can be used but should be blanched before sautéing.
