Ingredients
Egg Mixture
- 4 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons whole milk or heavy cream
- Pinch of salt & pepper
Cooking
- 1 teaspoon butter
- ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Egg Mixture: In a microwave-safe bowl, crack 4 large eggs. Add 2 tablespoons of whole milk or heavy cream along with a pinch of salt and pepper. Whisk the mixture thoroughly until the yolks and whites are fully combined and the mixture has a uniform color.
- Butter the Bowl: Add 1 teaspoon of butter to the bowl and microwave it for about 10-15 seconds until melted to lightly grease the bowl and help prevent sticking.
- Microwave the Eggs: Microwave the egg mixture on high for 30 seconds. Remove and stir gently with a fork or spatula to break up any cooked portions.
- Continue Cooking: Microwave again in 15-second increments, stirring after each interval, until the eggs are mostly set but still slightly runny, which usually takes about 1 to 1.5 minutes total depending on your microwave.
- Add Cheese (Optional): Sprinkle ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese on top of the eggs, then microwave for an additional 10-15 seconds to melt the cheese and finish cooking the eggs.
- Serve Immediately: Stir the eggs gently again and serve hot. Enjoy your creamy, fluffy microwave scrambled eggs with toast or your favorite breakfast sides.
Notes
- Cooking times may vary depending on your microwave’s wattage; adjust accordingly to avoid overcooking.
- For dairy-free or vegan alternatives, substitute milk with plant-based milk and skip the cheese, using vegan cheese if desired.
- Feel free to add chopped herbs or vegetables before microwaving for added flavor and nutrition.
- Use a larger bowl to prevent egg mixture from spilling over while microwaving.
