This microwave corn on the cob recipe provides a quick and easy way to enjoy tender, flavorful corn without the need for boiling water or grilling.

  • Total Time: 5-7 minutes
  • Yield: 1 serving

Ingredients

1 ear fresh corn

Instructions

  1. Start by removing the husk and silk from the corn cob. If the corn is too large to fit in your microwave, you can break it in half.
  2. Place the corn on a microwave-safe plate.
  3. Microwave on high for about 3-5 minutes. If you’re microwaving more than one ear, increase the time accordingly (about 5-7 minutes for two ears).
  4. After microwaving, carefully remove the corn (it will be hot), and use a towel or oven mitts to avoid burns.
  5. Let it cool for a minute, and then enjoy it with butter, salt, or your favorite toppings.

Notes

For buttery corn, spread some butter over the hot corn immediately after microwaving.

To make it spicy, add chili powder or cayenne pepper along with butter.

For herb-infused corn, mix chopped fresh herbs into melted butter and drizzle over the corn.

For cheesy corn, sprinkle with grated Parmesan or your favorite cheese after microwaving.

Leftover corn can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container.

To reheat, wrap the corn in a damp paper towel and microwave for 30-60 seconds.
