Ingredients
For the dough:
2 cups cake flour
A pinch of salt
2 cups water (plus more if needed)
For the creamy milk sauce:
4 cups milk
½ cup sugar (or to taste)
Ground cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
-
Prepare the dough: In a mixing bowl, combine the cake flour and a pinch of salt. Gradually add the 2 cups of water, mixing until you form a soft dough. Add more flour if it’s too sticky.
-
Shape the dough: Divide the dough into small bite-sized pieces, such as dumplings or small dough balls.
-
Cook the dough: Boil a large pot of water. Drop in the dough pieces and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until they float to the surface. Remove with a slotted spoon.
-
Prepare the milk sauce: In a separate pot, heat the milk over medium heat. Stir in sugar and allow to simmer, but avoid boiling over.
-
Combine and cook: Add the cooked dough pieces to the milk sauce and stir gently. Let it simmer for 5-10 minutes, allowing the dough to absorb the milk.
-
Serve: Once the dough is soft, remove from heat. Serve warm, sprinkled with cinnamon if desired.
Notes
For a vegan version, use plant-based milk and a dairy-free sweetener.
Add fruit like bananas or berries for extra texture.
You can experiment with spices like nutmeg or cardamom for added flavor.
