Ingredients
Marshmallows
- 36 large marshmallows
- 12 lollipop sticks or decorative straws
- Parchment paper (for setting)
Chocolate Coating
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
Decoration
- 1/2 cup white candy melts
- 1/2 cup red candy melts
- 1/4 cup red heart sprinkles
Instructions
- Assemble Marshmallows: Push three marshmallows onto each lollipop stick or decorative straw, leaving small gaps between each marshmallow to make dipping easier and prevent them from sticking together.
- Melt Chocolate Chips: Place the semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring well between each interval until the chocolate is completely smooth and melted.
- Dip Marshmallow Pops: Holding the lollipop stick, dip the marshmallows into the melted chocolate, ensuring they are fully coated. Gently tap the stick on the edge of the bowl to remove any excess chocolate to avoid drips.
- Set the Pops: Lay the dipped marshmallow pops on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Allow them to set slightly so the chocolate firms up for decoration.
- Melt Candy Melts: In separate microwave-safe bowls, melt the white candy melts and red candy melts using short bursts of heat, stirring frequently until smooth.
- Decorate Pops: Drizzle the melted white and red candy melts over the chocolate-covered marshmallows using a spoon or piping bag. While the candy coating is still soft, sprinkle the red heart sprinkles on top for a festive touch.
- Harden and Serve: Let the decorated marshmallow pops sit at room temperature until the chocolate and candy melts have fully hardened. Once set, serve immediately or store in an airtight container for later enjoyment.
Notes
- Use parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent sticking during the setting process.
- If the chocolate or candy melts begin to harden during decorating, gently reheat in short bursts to maintain smooth consistency.
- For a festive twist, try using different colors of candy melts or sprinkle varieties.
- These pops are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored for up to 2 days at room temperature in an airtight container.
