Ready in just 30 minutes, these crunchwraps offer a delicious and satisfying Tex-Mex meal perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Ground Beef Mixture

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef (96/4)
  • 2 Tbsp taco seasoning
  • 1/4 cup water (60g)

Crunchwrap Assembly

  • 4 large (12-inch) flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup nacho cheese sauce (120g), warmed
  • 1 cup fine shredded Mexican cheese (112g)
  • 4 tostada shells
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (120g)
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 1 roma tomato, diced

Optional for Serving

  • Taco sauce (such as Taco Bell mild)
  • Guacamole
  • Extra sour cream

Instructions

  1. Cook Taco Meat: Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Crumble and cook until browned through, then drain excess fat. Return the beef to the skillet, add taco seasoning and water, and cook while stirring until the water evaporates. Remove from heat, transfer the meat to a bowl, and wipe the skillet clean.
  2. Prepare Tortilla: Warm each flour tortilla to increase pliability, either briefly in the microwave or in a warm skillet.
  3. Layer Beef: Place a tortilla flat and spoon the seasoned beef into the center, sizing it roughly to the tostada shell but leaving edges clear for folding.
  4. Add Nacho Cheese: Spread about 2 tablespoons of the warmed nacho cheese sauce evenly over the beef layer.
  5. Sprinkle Mexican Cheese: Generously sprinkle 1/4 cup of finely shredded Mexican cheese atop the nacho cheese layer.
  6. Place Tostada Shell and Sour Cream: Lay a crunchy tostada shell over the cheeses then spread sour cream evenly on the tostada’s surface.
  7. Add Fresh Veggies: Layer shredded lettuce and diced roma tomato over the sour cream.
  8. Fold Tortilla: Carefully fold the edges of the tortilla towards the center, making about 5-6 folds to securely enclose the filling and create the crunchwrap shape.
  9. Toast Crunchwrap: Lightly spray the skillet with cooking spray or add a small amount of oil. Position the crunchwrap seam-side down in the skillet and toast over medium heat for approximately 2 minutes until golden brown and crisp. Flip and toast the other side similarly.
  10. Serve: Repeat the assembly and toasting steps for the remaining tortillas. Serve your homemade Crunchwrap Supremes hot with optional taco sauce, guacamole, or extra sour cream, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Warming tortillas before rolling prevents cracking when folding.
  • Use lean ground beef to reduce excess grease.
  • To make it vegetarian, substitute ground beef with seasoned plant-based meat or beans.
  • Adjust taco seasoning quantity to taste or use homemade seasoning blend for fresher flavor.
  • For extra crispiness, you can press the crunchwrap with a spatula while toasting.
