Garlic Parmesan Popcorn is a savory snack that combines the buttery crunch of popcorn with bold garlic, Parmesan, and herb flavors. A perfect treat for movie nights, parties, or any time you’re craving something flavorful.

  • Total Time: 10-15 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 servings

Ingredients

¼ cup popcorn kernels

4 to 6 cloves garlic, minced or pressed (or ¾ teaspoon garlic powder)

4 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

¼ teaspoon dried thyme

⅛ teaspoon dried basil

⅛ teaspoon dried oregano

Pinch salt

Black pepper, to taste

Crushed red pepper flakes, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or popcorn maker, pop the popcorn kernels according to the manufacturer’s instructions. If using a pot, heat the kernels over medium heat with a lid, shaking the pot occasionally until popping slows down. Once done, set aside.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, until fragrant. If using garlic powder, add it directly to the melted butter.
  3. Pour the freshly popped popcorn into a large bowl. Drizzle the garlic butter evenly over the popcorn, tossing to coat all the kernels.
  4. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese, dried thyme, basil, oregano, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using) over the popcorn. Toss again to make sure the seasoning is evenly distributed.
  5. Serve your Garlic Parmesan Popcorn warm and enjoy the irresistible flavor!

Notes

If using pre-popped popcorn, make sure to adjust the butter and seasoning amounts accordingly.

This popcorn is best enjoyed fresh but will stay tasty for up to 2-3 days in an airtight container.

Feel free to experiment with different herbs and spices based on your preference.
