Ingredients
Chocolate Mixture
- 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
- 1 1/2 cups Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
Sugars & Wet Ingredients
- 1/2 cup White Sugar
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar (packed)
- 3 Eggs (large)
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 tsp Salt
Dry Ingredients
- 1/2 cup All Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder (unsweetened)
Add-ins
- 2 cups Oreo Cookies, roughly crushed
- Additional chocolate chips and crushed Oreos (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Prepare the Chocolate Mixture: In a small saucepan, melt 1/2 cup unsalted butter over low heat. Add 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips and stir continuously until completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
- Mix the Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup white sugar and 1/2 cup packed brown sugar. Whisk until well combined.
- Incorporate Wet Ingredients: Add 3 eggs, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon salt to the sugar mixture. Whisk until smooth and slightly fluffy, then add the cooled chocolate butter mixture, blending well.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: Gradually sift 1/2 cup all-purpose flour and 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder into the wet ingredients. Gently fold until the batter is smooth and free of lumps.
- Add Oreos: Fold in 2 cups roughly crushed Oreo cookies, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8”x 8” (20cm x 20cm) baking dish with parchment paper.
- Pour and Top: Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Optionally, sprinkle additional chocolate chips and crushed Oreos over the top for extra indulgence.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs for fudgier brownies or clean for cakier brownies.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the brownies to cool in the baking dish for at least 20 minutes. Slice into squares and enjoy.
Notes
- For fudgier brownies, avoid overbaking and remove the brownies when a toothpick shows moist crumbs.
- Use parchment paper to easily lift brownies from the pan.
- Optional toppings like extra Oreos and chocolate chips add texture and flavor.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
- Bring refrigerated brownies to room temperature before serving for best texture.
