No reviews

Indulgent fried sandwiches filled with creamy strawberry cheesecake, fresh strawberries, and strawberry jam, all encased in crispy golden brioche or challah bread.

  • Total Time: 18–20 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

8 slices of brioche or challah bread

4 oz cream cheese, softened

2 tbsp powdered sugar (plus more for dusting)

1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

1/4 cup strawberry jam

2 large eggs

3 tbsp milk

2 tbsp butter (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  2. Spread the cream cheese mixture on four slices of bread. Top with sliced fresh strawberries and a spoonful of strawberry jam. Place the remaining bread slices on top to form sandwiches.
  3. In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs and milk until well combined.
  4. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, coating both sides, and fry for 2–3 minutes on each side, until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove sandwiches from the skillet and drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Try different fruits or jams, such as raspberry, blueberry, or peach, for a variation.

For a lower sugar version, use sugar substitutes and sugar-free jam.

For a vegan alternative, use dairy-free cream cheese, plant-based milk, and a flax egg replacement.

If you want to make the filling creamier, add a tablespoon of heavy cream or sour cream.

Use gluten-free bread if needed, but ensure it’s sturdy enough for frying.
