This Everything Bagel Dip is a creamy, flavorful spread inspired by the classic everything bagel seasoning. Made with cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise, and loaded with dried onion, poppy seeds, sesame seeds, and garlic powder, it’s a perfect appetizer to serve with bagel chips, crackers, or veggies. Quick to prepare and bursting with savory, garlicky goodness, this dip will elevate any snack or party platter.

  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 12 servings

Ingredients

Dip Base

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise

Everything Bagel Seasoning Mix

  • 1 1/2 Tbsp minced dried onion
  • 1 Tbsp poppy seeds
  • 2 tsp toasted white sesame seeds
  • 2 tsp black sesame seeds (or more toasted white sesame seeds)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt, plus more to taste

Instructions

  1. Whip Cream Cheese: In a large mixing bowl, use an electric hand mixer to whip the softened cream cheese until fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes. This step ensures a smooth and airy base for the dip.
  2. Add Sour Cream and Mayonnaise: Add the sour cream and mayonnaise to the whipped cream cheese, then blend until fully combined and creamy.
  3. Prepare Everything Bagel Seasoning Mix: In a small bowl, toss together the minced dried onion, poppy seeds, white sesame seeds, black sesame seeds, and garlic powder. Set aside 1 teaspoon of this mixture to use later as a garnish.
  4. Combine Seasoning with Dip: Pour the remaining seasoning mix into the cream cheese mixture and stir well to evenly distribute the flavors. Season with kosher salt to taste, and optionally add a little pepper if desired.
  5. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle the reserved 1 teaspoon of seasoning mixture on top of the dip for a visually appealing finish. Serve immediately with bagel chips, crackers, chips, or fresh vegetables. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to one week. For a thinner consistency, you can add a splash of milk.

Notes

  • Ensure cream cheese is softened to make whipping easier and achieve a smooth dip.
  • Adjust the amount of sesame seeds to your preference, especially if you want a stronger sesame flavor.
  • The dip can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to 7 days, allowing flavors to meld nicely.
  • If the dip is too thick, thin it gently with milk until you reach the desired consistency.
  • Serve with a variety of dippers like bagel chips, crackers, pita chips, or fresh vegetables for a versatile appetizer.
