Ingredients
Slider Base
- 1 package (12-count) Hawaiian sweet rolls
Beef Filling
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1/3 cup water
Toppings
- 1 cup shredded cheese (Mexican blend)
- 1/2 cup salsa
- 1/2 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 medium tomato, diced
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 3 tbsp freshly chopped cilantro leaves
- 1/4 cup pickled jalapeños, optional
Butter Topping
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp dried parsley
Instructions
- Prepare the Beef Filling: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat from the pan. Stir in the taco seasoning and water, then simmer for 5 minutes or until the mixture thickens and the flavors meld.
- Slice the Hawaiian Rolls: Cut the entire package of Hawaiian sweet rolls horizontally in half, keeping the rolls connected as a sheet to hold the sliders together.
- Assemble the Sliders: Spread the seasoned ground beef evenly over the bottom half of the rolls. Sprinkle the shredded Mexican blend cheese on top of the meat layer.
- Add the Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley. Brush this flavorful butter mixture evenly over the top half of the rolls.
- Bake the Sliders: Place the assembled slider halves on a baking sheet and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the rolls are warmed through.
- Add Fresh Toppings: Remove the sliders from the oven and layer the melted cheese side with salsa, shredded lettuce, diced tomato, sour cream, freshly chopped cilantro, and optional pickled jalapeños.
- Serve: Place the top half of the rolls onto the sliders and gently press down. Slice between the rolls to separate individual sliders and serve immediately while warm.
Notes
- For extra spice, add more jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce.
- Make sliders ahead and refrigerate before baking; bake just before serving to keep rolls fresh.
- Substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
- Use gluten-free rolls to accommodate dietary restrictions.
- Serve with extra salsa and sour cream on the side for dipping.
