  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

Shrimp Marinade

  • ½ Juice from Lemon
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Paprika Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano

Shrimp and Seasonings

  • 400 g Large Argentinian Shrimp, peeled and dried
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red Paprika Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Sauce and Pasta

  • 3 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 4 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 200 ml Tomato Sauce
  • 500 ml Heavy Cream
  • 300 g Linguine Pasta
  • Fresh Parsley, chopped
  • Parmesan (optional), grated
  • Fresh Basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Shrimp: In a bowl, combine the lemon juice, olive oil, garlic powder, red paprika powder, smoked paprika powder, and dried oregano. Add the peeled and dried Argentinian shrimp to the marinade, tossing to coat well. Set aside to let the flavors infuse for about 15 minutes.
  2. Cook the Linguine: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside, reserving some pasta water.
  3. Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet or pan, melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the marinated shrimp along with additional seasonings (1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1 teaspoon red paprika powder, 1 teaspoon smoked paprika powder, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, salt, and pepper) to taste. Cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove shrimp from the pan and set aside.
  4. Prepare the Sauce: In the same pan, add the minced garlic cloves and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the tomato sauce and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes. Lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine and create a creamy, rich sauce. Let it simmer gently for 4-5 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Combine Shrimp and Pasta: Return the cooked shrimp to the pan with the sauce and stir to coat them well. Add the cooked linguine to the pan, tossing everything together. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to loosen it. Cook together for an additional 1-2 minutes to meld flavors.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle chopped fresh parsley and optional fresh basil over the pasta. Optionally, grate Parmesan cheese on top before serving. Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Marinating the shrimp enhances the flavor and tenderness but can be skipped if short on time.
  • Reserve some pasta water to adjust sauce consistency if needed.
  • Use heavy cream for a rich and creamy sauce; light cream or milk will alter the texture.
  • Fresh herbs like parsley and basil brighten the dish and add freshness.
  • Parmesan is optional but recommended for an extra savory touch.
  • Make sure not to overcook shrimp to avoid rubbery texture.
