Savor the best of both worlds with this Deep Hamburger Sausage & Pepperoni Pie! A savory, hearty pie filled with ground beef, Italian sausage, pepperoni, and gooey mozzarella cheese, all wrapped in a golden, flaky crust. Perfect for pizza lovers and comfort food enthusiasts alike!

  • Total Time: 45-50 minutes
  • Yield: 6-8 servings

Ingredients

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 pound ground beef

1/2 pound Italian sausage (optional)

1 package refrigerated pie crusts (or homemade crust if preferred)

1/2 cup pepperoni slices

1/2 cup pizza sauce

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • In a skillet, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage (if using) over medium heat until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Drain any excess fat.

  • Stir in the pizza sauce, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.

  • Unroll the pie crusts and fit one into the bottom of a 9-inch pie dish, pressing gently to cover evenly.

  • Spoon the meat mixture into the pie crust, spreading it evenly.

  • Layer the pepperoni slices on top of the meat, then sprinkle with shredded mozzarella.

  • Place the second pie crust over the pie, sealing the edges. Crimp the edges for decoration, or simply fold them under.

  • Cut a few slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.

  • Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden and the filling is bubbly.

  • Let it cool for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Cheese alternatives: Use cheddar, provolone, or a blend of Italian cheeses for a twist on the classic.

Add vegetables: Bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms can be added to the filling for extra flavor and texture.
