Ingredients
For the Lemonade:
1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice (8–10 medium lemons or 6–8 large lemons)
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
3 cups cold water
3–4 cups ice
Optional Garnish:
Lemon slices
Lemon wedges
Fresh mint leaves
Fresh basil leaves
Fresh berries
Curled lemon peel
Instructions

In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and the sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let it cool.

In a large pitcher, add fresh lemon juice.

Pour the cooled simple syrup into the pitcher with the lemon juice and stir.

Add 3 cups cold water and stir again. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more sugar syrup.

Fill glasses with ice, then pour the lemonade over the ice.

Garnish with lemon slices, mint leaves, or any other garnish of choice.
