Soft, buttery Cinnamon Cream Cheese Cookies coated in cinnamon sugar for the perfect balance of warmth and sweetness. These melt-in-your-mouth cookies are tender, fluffy, and irresistibly cozy.

  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 24 cookies

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 1/2 cups granulated sugar

1 egg

2 tsp vanilla extract

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1/4 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)

1 tbsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and 1 1/2 cups sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
  5. Add softened cream cheese and powdered sugar; mix until smooth and creamy.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients, mixing just until combined. The dough should be soft but not sticky.
  7. In a small bowl, combine 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon to make the coating.
  8. Roll 1 tablespoon of dough into a ball, coat in cinnamon sugar, and place on the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes, until edges are set and centers are slightly soft.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Chill the dough for 20–30 minutes if it feels too soft or sticky.

Add a pinch of nutmeg or allspice for extra warmth.

Make cookie sandwiches by filling with cream cheese frosting.

For a caramel-like flavor, substitute some granulated sugar with brown sugar.

Store with a slice of bread to keep cookies soft.
