Cajun Steak Penne with Ranch Honey Cheese Sauce is a bold and creamy pasta dish featuring Cajun-seasoned steak, a tangy ranch honey cheese sauce, and perfectly cooked penne. The balance of spice, sweetness, and savory flavors makes this a comforting and crowd-pleasing meal for any occasion.

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: Serves 4

Ingredients

1 lb sirloin steak, cut into thin strips

2 tbsp Cajun seasoning

1 tbsp olive oil

12 oz penne pasta

2 tbsp butter

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup ranch dressing

2 tbsp honey

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1 tsp salt, to taste

1 pinch black pepper

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta: Bring salted water to a boil. Cook penne according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and reserve 1 cup of pasta water.

  • Cook the steak: Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the steak with Cajun seasoning, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked through. Set aside.

  • Make the sauce: In the same skillet, melt 2 tbsp butter. Add heavy cream, ranch dressing, and honey. Stir to combine and simmer for 3-4 minutes.

  • Add the cheese: Stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.

  • Combine: Add the cooked pasta and steak to the skillet, tossing to coat evenly with the sauce.

  • Serve: Plate the pasta, garnish with parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

Variations: Replace steak with sautéed mushrooms or grilled chicken for a different protein. For extra heat, increase Cajun seasoning or add red pepper flakes.

Cheese: Swap cheddar with Monterey Jack, mozzarella, or gouda for a different flavor profile.

Low-carb option: Use zucchini noodles or cauliflower penne for a lighter version.
