Ingredients
Burger Patties
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 3 tablespoons breadcrumbs
- 1 ½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
To Serve
- Spicy mayo
- Brioche burger buns
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Onion rings (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure it is hot and ready for baking the chicken burgers evenly.
- Prepare the Burger Mixture: In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, smoked paprika, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and chili flakes if using. Mix thoroughly but gently to evenly distribute the spices without overworking the meat, which keeps burgers tender.
- Form Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a round burger patty approximately ¾ inch thick. Place patties on a parchment-lined baking sheet for easy cleanup.
- Bake the Burgers: Place the baking sheet with patties in the preheated oven. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the patties are cooked through and lightly browned on the outside.
- Prepare the Buns and Toppings: While the burgers bake, slice brioche buns and prepare lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and onion rings if using. Toast the buns lightly if desired.
- Assemble the Burgers: Spread a generous amount of spicy mayo on the bottom halves of the buns. Layer on lettuce, the freshly baked chicken patties, tomato slices, and onion rings. Top with the bun caps to complete your BLT chicken burgers.
- Serve Immediately: Serve the burgers warm with your favorite side such as fries or a salad for a satisfying meal.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey for chicken if preferred.
- Adjust chili flakes to your heat preference or omit for a milder flavor.
- Spicy mayo can be made by mixing mayonnaise with sriracha or hot sauce.
- Ensure ground chicken is fully cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F for food safety.
- Breadcrumbs help bind the patties and keep them moist; panko breadcrumbs provide extra texture.
- Optional onion rings add a nice crunch and flavor contrast but can be left out to keep it lighter.
