Ingredients
Radish Chips
- 1/2 pound fresh radishes (washed)
- Olive oil spray
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 3/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat the air fryer to 350°F to ensure it reaches the proper temperature for cooking the radish chips evenly and achieving a crispy texture.
- Prepare the Radishes: Remove the stems and roots from the washed radishes. Using a sharp knife or mandoline, slice the radishes into thin ⅛-inch pieces to ensure they cook quickly and get crispy.
- Season the Radishes: Place the slices in a single layer on a baking sheet and spray them lightly with olive oil spray. Alternatively, gently brush the slices with olive oil using a pastry brush. Sprinkle the garlic powder, onion powder, sea salt, and black pepper evenly over the radish slices. Toss gently to coat all slices thoroughly with oil and seasoning.
- Arrange for Air Frying: Place the seasoned radish slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overlapping the slices to promote even cooking. If needed, cook in batches.
- Air Fry the Radishes: Cook the radish slices in the air fryer at 350°F for 8-10 minutes. Halfway through the cooking time, toss or flip the slices to ensure they brown evenly and become crispy around the edges.
- Cool and Serve: Once cooked, transfer the radish chips to a cooling rack arranged in a single layer. Allow them to rest for 5 minutes to crisp up further before serving. Enjoy as a healthy snack or side dish.
Notes
- Use a mandoline for uniform, thin slices to ensure even cooking.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary.
- Adjust seasoning amounts according to taste preferences.
- If radishes are larger or thicker, cooking time may need slight adjustment.
- Serve immediately for best crispness; leftovers may soften over time.
